Welcome to WoWa Land

Why we started this little field guide between woods and waves.

Welcome to WoWa Land

If you’ve ever opened a map of southern Sweden and felt a little overwhelmed by all the lakes, tiny stations, and coastal inlets, you’re in the right place.

WoWa Land is our family field guide to a small pocket of Blekinge, Kalmar, and Småland — the places between woods and waves where we keep coming back for swims, forest loops, and fika.

Why we built this guide

We started by pinning favourite spots for visiting friends: a pier that’s perfect for early dips, a mossy ridge with kid-friendly lookout rocks, a farm shop that saves dinner after a long drive. Over time, the list grew into something bigger than a set of directions in a message thread.

This site is our way of:

  • Keeping track of the swims, trails, and day trips that actually work with real life (small kids, variable weather, and trains that don’t always line up).
  • Sharing our stuga as a simple base so you don’t have to figure out the “where do we stay?” question from scratch.
  • Giving international visitors a softer landing in a part of Sweden that can feel quiet and under-mapped from afar.

How to use WoWa Land

  • Start in Explore to browse places — lakes, trails, day trips, and gårdar we’ve actually tried.
  • Use Search when you have a specific vibe in mind (family-friendly, car-free, cold-plunge curious).
  • Head to Stay to see the stuga, check dates on Airbnb, or email us to shape a simple itinerary around the spots you’ve saved.

If you have a favourite swim, café, or trail nearby that you think belongs here, we’d love to hear about it.

See you between the woods and the waves.
