Rökasjön bathing pier

Follow the pine-lined path from Holmsjö to reach Rökasjön, a clear-water lake that stays calm even on windier days. The local association keeps a floating pontoon in summer and a small shed stocked with loaner SUP boards. Families love the gentle, sandy shallows, while early birds paddle out for misty dawn laps.

  • Swim season: late May–September (no motorboats allowed)
  • Facilities: composting loo, changing hut, fire ring, wood pile (bring matches)
  • Best time: sunrise for glassy reflections, golden hour for picnics on the rocks

Pack a thermos and stay for the evening — the west-facing cliffs catch the final light and offer a grandstand view of migrating cranes.
