Stuga Eos — our little cabin by the woods

We live in Karlskrona, about 30 minutes away, and this is our small guest cabin in a quiet stugby by the lake. It’s simple, calm, with a big grass yard for kids to run around and forest and lake trail close by. If you want quiet mornings, fresh air, and an easy base for exploring Blekinge, you’ll probably like it here.

If you’re curious what there is to do nearby, our Guide page is where we share our favourite lakes, trails, and fika spots.

Is this place for you?

This stuga is a good fit if…

  • You like simple and practical, not luxury finishes.
  • You want nature close by, with a forest lake and trail in easy walking distance.
  • You’re happy with a small indoor space, a big yard, and spending a lot of time outdoors.
  • You want an easy base for day trips to Karlskrona, Ronneby, and the Blekinge archipelago.
  • You like a place that feels calm but not empty in summer, with a few neighbours and camping guests around.

Maybe not a fit if…

  • You’re looking for hotel-level finishes or luxury interiors.
  • You want complete seclusion with no one around — the stuga sits in a small stugby of around 27 cabins, and there’s a tiny forest campsite next door.
  • You want to rely on walking to restaurants and shops; having a car makes life much easier here.
  • You’re planning loud evenings or parties — this is a quiet, nature-focused place.

A typical day at Stuga Eos

Morning usually starts slowly — coffee at the breakfast bar looking into the pines, kids exploring the woods around the cabin, and a quick walk down to the lake for a dip if the weather allows.

During the day you can head out for a swim, take the forest trail around the lake, or do a day trip to Karlskrona, Ronneby Brunn, or small harbours along the coast. It’s an easy base if you want both quiet and small adventures.

Evenings often mean grilling outside, watching the light fade through the trees, and then coming inside for board games, books, and a calm night in the cabin.

Inside the cabin

Sleeping

There are two small bedrooms plus an extra bed in the living room. One bedroom has a 140 cm bed, the kids’ room has a bunk bed, and the living room has a new, comfortable extra bed. It works best for a couple with kids, or up to five people who are happy in a compact space.

Kitchen and eating

The kitchen is simple but practical — you can cook normal family meals, make coffee and breakfast, and eat either at the small table inside or outside when the weather is good. It’s not a chef’s kitchen, but it covers the basics.

Bathroom

You have a private bathroom with shower and the usual essentials. It’s small and straightforward — more like a simple cabin bathroom than a spa.

Living area

The living space is cosy rather than big: space for reading, board games, and slow breakfasts looking out toward the woods. When the weather is good, most people end up drifting between the cabin and the outdoor seating and grill.

Outside: forest, grill, and the lake trail

Just outside the cabin you have a large grass yard (around 1300 m²) where kids can run and play, and space to sit with a coffee, read, or grill dinner under the pines. It’s not a manicured garden — more a simple, open yard that blends into the surrounding woods.

The lake is a short walk away along a small trail. It’s a protected freshwater lake with no motorboats, so it stays calm — good for swims, SUPs, canoes, and quiet paddles. We can help with SUP rental, and the nearby campsite offers kayaks and canoes.

Good to know before you book

  • The lake is a protected freshwater reserve — there are no motorboats, but SUPs, canoes, and rowboats are welcome.
  • We can arrange SUP rental, and there’s a nearby lakeside campsite with kayaks and canoes if you want more time on the water.
  • You’ll almost certainly want a car for groceries and exploring; the closest supermarket is ICA Supermarket in Holmsjö (about 7 minutes by car).
  • Trains (Krösatågen) stop at Holmsjö — if you’re travelling without a car, we can usually arrange a simple station pick-up.
  • This is a quiet, nature-first place. We ask guests to keep late evenings calm out of respect for neighbours, wildlife, and the lake.

Why we share this place

We live in Karlskrona but spend as much time as we can out here because we love the mix of forest, lakes, and small coastal towns. Letting guests stay in Stuga Eos is our way of sharing that pace of life for a little while.
